I have created a personal website in the year of 2025.
If you don’t know me, I’m Blake, known online as Coolpick. I’ll have a more in-depth about me section at some point.
The design of this website was a little bit ambitious to be frank, emulating a Windows 10 file explorer. It wasn’t my first idea though, which looked closer to the image below.
With the help of my friend Skeary, we mocked up the initial design on Figma for my website. (This whole thing wouldn’t have happened without him, go check out his site now.) Though after learning enough HTML and CSS to mimic my original design, I wasn’t satisfied. I had an idea for what you see now, a file explorer that worked just like the real thing but stylized for a website. With it right on my taskbar, I didn’t even need to create a Figma, rather I could just take inspiration directly from the source. With Windows 10 support ending in a few months anyways, I figured that it’d at least be an interesting time capsule of, “Oh, I made that right before switching to Windows 11”.
Whatever the style, my goal both then and now is to create a space that I can share my thoughts in a more organized matter, an extension of my Obsidian notes really, maybe some more formal writing as well, and also just to share things I enjoy on the internet with other people. Mostly music, movies, anime, recommendations or reviews.
Anyways, this first one will be a short post. There’s a lot I still want to do with this site. As of writing this, I don’t have the desktop, downloads, music, pictures, or videos page even started yet.
But there are a few things that are completed, so please go look around the site! There may be a few silly things to click on! Do give it audio and video autoplay permission so you get the funny sounds consistently!
Grand Opening!
The site is quite barebones for now, but I'll be updating everything in the future. I'll announce around here when new pages are completed!
Turn on 'Autoplay: Allow Video and Audio' in your site settings for consistent sounds!
